Nissan has unveiled its new fifth-generation Pathfinder crossover. It will start selling in the summer of 2021.

The car has become a bit more compact than its predecessor – 5004mm in length with a constant 2900mm wheelbase. At the same time, the design has undergone major changes. Smooth lines were replaced by edging in the spirit of the younger X-Trail / Rogue. The wide radiator grille is combined with the swept diode headlights. This is reported by the autoportal.ua site (scroll to the bottom to see the video).

A virtual instrument panel and a front display screen appeared in the cockpit. The multimedia touch screen has been increased to 9 inches in the top version. Also interesting is the compact shift joystick, under which there is a niche for luggage.

Pathfinder is now available in seven- and eight-seat versions. Even with all the seats in place, the 470-liter boot remains.

In the basic version, the crossover received the Nissan Safety Shield 360 safety complex. It includes:

  • automatic braking systems,

  • control systems for signaling and “blind” zones,

  • headlight control.

Semi-autonomous driving technology is also available for a supplement. There is also seat ventilation and three-zone climate control.

Under the hood, the crossover was left with a 3.5-liter, 285-horsepower V6. A 9-speed automatic transmission now works in tandem with it. Later, there may be a hybrid Nissan Pathfinder. They will offer versions with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. In the latter case, there are modes for different types of SUV.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, Nissan has announced the presentation date for the new Qashqai. The compact SUV is known to stand out with its striking design, modern technology and electrified powertrains.
