In one of the central games of the 12th round of Serie A, Inter Milan and Napoli faced each other. Immediately after the kickoff, the guests took possession of the playing advantage, taking the ball under their control. However, everything was limited only to his shooting, he did not finish on goal. After a while, the Neapolitans took the initiative and took the ball. But the guests also experienced difficulties with creation in the last third of the field, missing the mark.

In addition, the “parthenopeia” lost Mertens, who was injured when hitting the ball. Shortly after leaving the field, the hosts came very close to opening an account. Martínez spun with the ball and shot low, but his shot was a bit lacking in precision, after which Gennaro Gattuso’s men took possession of the ball again, moving towards the outer half of the field. But there they still did not press Handanovich’s possessions.

Guests used to load the ball into the penalty area, but these passes did not result in shots on target. More or less a good chance to score was on Zielinski, who hit hard on bunt after Petania’s discount – Peter’s shot was inaccurate. Later, the “partenopeias” carried out several more significant attacks, but did not lead any of them to their logical conclusion. As for the Milanese, they did not create any sharpness in other people’s doors. Until the end of the first half of the match, the teams did not create a single dangerous moment, going into halftime with boring “zeros” on the scoreboard.

After the resumption of the game, the Neapolitans took the ball under their control, but possessed it mainly in the center of the field, without moving towards Handanovic’s goal. Over time, however, they began to approach the captain’s possession of the “snakes,” but there were no dangerous moments. The standards obtained did not help either. In one of the episodes, Lozano did not notice the first murderous moment, but the probable goal would still not have been scored from an offside position.

A few minutes later, Insigne came close to scoring a clean goal. Lorenzo struck effectively with the heel after a lumbago from Zielinski, and Handanovic reacted to this blow and saved his team. And already in the response attack, Inter earned a penalty. Ospina dropped Darmian in the penalty area, for which a penalty kick was awarded. Insigne immediately said something to the head referee, for which he received a direct red card, leaving the guests outnumbered. Subsequently, Lukaku approached the ball and converted the penalty with confidence – 1: 0.

Minutes later, Martinez fell into someone else’s penalty area, but in this case there was no violation of the rules. In the minutes that followed, the Nerazzurri won several set pieces, but none ended with a shot on goal. But Gattuso’s attacks almost scored: Politano shot under the crossbar after Lozano’s pass, and Handanovich saved the hosts again. Despite the numerical majority, the Milanese completely gave the ball to the rival, clinging to their own penalty area. The guests came forward in great forces in the hope of salvation.

In one of the episodes, Politano again aimed at a goal scored: Matteo shot on goal from outside the area, after which the ball bounced off the defender and went to the corner. A few minutes later, Di Lorenzo had a great opportunity to stand out, but the defender cleverly fired straight at Handanovich, who was in the near corner. And already in injury time, the hosts’ goalkeeper was already recovered, but Fortuna was on his side. The bar came to Samir’s aid after being hit by Petania from close range. The Neapolitans had no time for more, they failed to snatch a draw. The “snakes” with a crack scored three points, allowing them to get closer to Milan.

On matchday 13, Inter will put La Spezia’s strength to the test, while Napoli will face another very difficult match: a duel against the capital, Lazio.
