Both teams found themselves in a rather difficult situation due to the coronavirus epidemic. “Alexandria” had many more losses, in particular, for various reasons that Grechishkin, Miroshnichenko, Bezborodko, Kovalets, Pankiv, Bilyk, Gordienko, Banada, Dovgy and others could not play. As a result, Vladimir Sharan not only had to use double players, but also change his tactics. Almost for the first time in an official match, “Alexandria” played with three centrals.
Valery Bondarenko returned very on time, with him playing Baboglo and Melnik, 20 years old. The goal was defended by Vyacheslav Borisenko, 18 years old. Another rookie is Nikita Dudka, who came out in midfield alongside Vasily Gritsuk. Sharan entrusted the defensive flanks to Pashaev (right) and Luchkevich (left). The main defeat of the “Ingulets”, it seems, was Sergey Lavrienko – he was replaced on the training bridge in this match by Valery Shapovalov. Instead of the disqualified Lupashko, Semenko played, on the left flank of midfield for the first time in the new team played Yanakov, under which Fateev was on defense, and not Kvasny or Sinegub, who had played in previous matches. Well, quite unexpectedly, Bartulovich appeared at the forefront, although Sitchinava was included in the application and entered as a substitute immediately after the break.
And he replaced center midfielder Nick Semenko, as the “Ingulets” achieved a numerical advantage just before the break. Valeriy Luchkevich won a first yellow in one episode of the game, then was provoked by Kovalenko – the second warning and sending off for “Alexandria”. Everything would be fine, a problem for the “Ingulets”, at that moment they were already losing with a difference of three goals.
If we take all the newcomers from the first division, then at the beginning of the season Petrovtsy has established itself as the most organized team in terms of defensive actions. However, it was in this match that Ingulets looked mediocre. The guests missed from the first hit. Of course, Gritsuk’s performance turned out to be excellent, from one point to another, as Viktor Leonenko likes to say. But before that, Vetrovtsy allowed Vasily to take the ball in stride after a throw-in from off the pitch and beat two defenders before shooting.
It only took three minutes as “Ingulets” missed a second time in the middle. This time, Ustimenko easily beat Kovalev and Pavlov and shot into the bottom corner. Goal 35 was organized by the Alexandria centrals. After a free kick from the back of the field, Baboglo reached the ball and threw it to Bondarenko, who did not miss from four meters. Finally, Krynskiy scored a goal in his own goal: the goalkeeper knocked out the ball so that Dudka managed to intercept it. The 20-year-old midfielder missed his teammate but calmly shot over the goalkeeper.
In fact, the “Inguls” were still lucky that before the half-time whistle they managed to recover a goal: a banal cross from Balan to the 11-meter mark was closed by Kovalenko. And this relaxation of “Alexandria” at the end of the first half, which turned into a miss and removal, crept sideways in the second half.
Although it cannot be said that the cheerful Ingulets pushed Alexandria into their penalty area. Yes, Petrovtsy went ahead, but Sharan wards created trouble. After all, Gritsuk’s foul on Bartulovichn was clearly unjustified: the Croatian entered the penalty area, but on the front row, in addition, Baboglo jumped at him. In the end, Mladen himself served the sentence clearly.
In a similar scenario, Ingulets has reduced the gap to a minimum. The miller did not have time to catch the ball on the rebound, while Yanakov would have thrown away from the goal. Denis scored from the mark, though Borisenko came close to throwing the shot out the bottom right corner. At that time, by the way, the teams were already on equal composition. In the 69th minute, “Alexandria” ran into a counterattack and Pavlov played Ustimenko in an extremely tough tackle. Sergei Boyko, who did not skimp on cards in this match, immediately pulled a red card from his pocket.
However, “Ingulets” clearly caught the wave, while “Alexandria” swam. Only Borisenko’s successful play on the line and Zaporozhets’s goal openly in the middle saved the hosts from the fourth goal. In another episode, Bartulovich was not small enough to close serve at the far post. But the Ingulets weren’t enough for the final round. In compensated time, Petrovtsi played standing up. In addition, there were experienced players in Sharan’s reserve (Sitalo and Dubra), who managed to calm the team in the final minutes and defend the victory in this brilliant and to some extent strange regional derby.
