Business News:Starting Friday, May 1, Ukrainian pensioners will receive higher payments, taking into account the annual indexation of pensions.
Planned indexation of pensions in 2020 it will take place with May 1, and the pension recalculation coefficient will be 1.11. This is stated in Resolution No. 251 of the Cabinet of Ministers of April 1, “Some issues of increasing pension payments and providing social support to certain categories of the population by 2020.”
According to the decree, in 2020, pensions are recalculated from May 1 in accordance with the law “on compulsory state pension insurance” and Cabinet Decree No. 124 of February 20, 2019.
“The recalculation of pensions will be carried out using the coefficient of increase in the average salary (income) in Ukraine, from which insurance premiums are paid, and which is taken into account in calculating the pension, in the amount of 1.11 “– says the explanation of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The increase in pension payments from May 2020 will be carried out in two ways:
Indexation of retirement pensions:
It will be 11% and 7 million pensioners will receive a guaranteed increase. Therefore, the minimum pension will increase from 1,889 hryvnias to 2,797 hryvnias;
Surcharge for pensions:
senior citizens who converted 80 and overYou will receive a monthly premium in 500 hryvnia. In total, this will affect 1.5 million pensioners.
Too up to 2,100 hryvnias The minimum pension has been increased for people whose insurance experience is 30 years for women and 35 years for men.
Pension Fund began financing pensions in May
Furthermore, in the event that the size of the increase as a result of the recalculation of the pension does not reach 100 hryvnias, an additional payment is established for the pension in an amount that is not sufficient for the specified amount.
“The count was made automatically (without personal appeals) to 9.9 million pensioners. The amount of pensions increased by 8️, 36 million people. The average increase was 259.41 hryvnias”, – noted in PFU.
According to PFU, the size of the increase will be:

Payment will be made from May 4, 2020 on the payment dates established by the pensioners through payment in bank accounts or through Ukrposhta.
Ministry of Social Policy: pensioners will not receive a subsidy even in case of debt
The Minister of Social Policy, Marina Lazebnaya, said that the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers on the planned indexation of pensions from May 1, 2020 concerns 8.4 million pensioners out of a total of 11.3 million pensioners. As the minister noted, the average increase after indexing will be 260 hryvnia. The smallest increase is set at 100 hryvnia.
