The Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared criminal liability unconstitutional for inaccurate declaration. This decision was made today by the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court.
This was reported to RBC-Ukraine by a source in court.
“Today the Grand Chamber of the court ruled on the unconstitutionality of article 366-1 of the Penal Code,” he said.
This article introduced the criminal liability of officials and judges for inaccurate property declarations.
Recall that at the end of November last year the law of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, came into force, which renewed criminal responsibility for illegal enrichment.
In early October it was learned that the Constitutional Court is considering the presentation of 47 popular deputies on the constitutionality of certain provisions of the legislation on liability for illicit enrichment.
We add that at the end of July 2019, the General Prosecutor’s Office admitted that the leadership of the District Administrative Court of the city of Kiev could press the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the law on illegal enrichment.
