The authorities of the Vinnitsa region declare signs of the beginning of the second wave of coronavirus incidence. The president of the Vinnitsa Regional State Administration, Vladislav Skalsky, spoke about the epidemiological situation on Tuesday, May 12, reports Ukrinform.

“I can say that we have signs of the start of the second wave of coronavirus disease in the Vinnitsa region. During the first full week of May, we have a gradual increase in new cases detected. And on the last day we have 27 new cases of coronavirus disease. As of 9:00 am On May 12, 580 cases of coronavirus disease were confirmed in the region, “the governor said.

There are 70 patients in hospitals, 8 of which are children. Eight patients are in serious condition, need oxygen, one of them, a 46-year-old man, is on a respirator.

In total, six people died in the region. All had severe concomitant pathology, in particular terminal cancer diseases.

“The occupation of beds with COVID-19 patients in nine support hospitals in the region is gradually increasing. Also, if we talk about 9 institutions of the first wave of the hospital base, only COVID-19 patients already have almost 20% of total number of infectious beds. Vinnitsa City Clinical Infection Ward capacities No. 1 Hospitals are almost completely full. New hospitalizations for coronavirus disease will now be sent to Vinnitsa Central District Hospital, ” Skalsky said.
