In Ukraine, 251 people’s deputies, most of whom are representatives of the “Servant of the People”, approved in the first reading of the bill # 3890, which obliges companies to ensure that visitors wear masks correctly: covering the nose and the mouth.
Those who let in public transport, shopping centers and any other establishment of visitors who have masks on their chin will be sanctioned. They will have to pay a fine from 3400 to 5100 UAH.
“For a pass, the admission of a person to public buildings, structures, public transport during quarantine without personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, including those made by yourself, or by not take measures to keep a person in public buildings, structures, public transport without this type of personal protective equipment, a commercial entity pays a fine in the amount of two hundred to three hundred minimum non-taxable income of citizens ”, says the project of law.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, in his briefing on October 31 appealed to the president of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov Y people’s deputies with a request for support a bill on the strengthening of administrative responsibility for violation of sanitary regulations.
The next step is the punishment for ordinary Ukrainians.
One in four Ukrainians wears a mask irregularly, according to a study by the Rating group. At the same time, the lion’s share puts respirators and masks on their chin, without covering their nose and mouth. Such protection has no effect, but the “mask mode” requirement is formally met.
The Cabinet of Ministers has developed another bill, which should force not only to put on medical protective equipment, but also to do it correctly. “For individuals, the fines are relatively small; in fact, there is even a slight decrease in fines from what is currently foreseen in the general quarantine rules,” Justice Minister Denis Malyuska introduced the bill.
If before for the lack of masks you could be fined 17 thousand UAH, now the fine will be unpleasant, but feasible for any Ukrainian worker. So if, for example, you come to a mall and put a mask on your chin, can be fined 170 UAH. And if you break the rules again, the fine will be 255 UAH.
“Staying in public buildings, structures, public transport during quarantine without wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, including those made by yourself, will lead to the imposition of a fine of ten to fifteen minimum tax-free income of citizens “, – says the bill.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in Ukraine it is necessary to tighten the punishment for those who do not wear masks in public places. The head of state believes that must fine immediately on the spot, without courts.
For this it is necessary to change the legislation, and the deputies did not want to do it before the local elections. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during his interview with four Ukrainian TV channels.
