The first power unit of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine was disconnected from the grid after automatic protection was activated. This was announced on Saturday, December 12 by the Energoatom press service, reports RIA Novosti.
“The shutdown occurred as a result of automatic protection activated when the unit’s turbines shut down. There were no violations of the safe operating limits and conditions. The reason for the closure of power unit No. 1 is being investigated, ”the company explained.
Radiation, fire and environmental conditions at the Rivne nuclear power plant are within normal limits. The power unit n. 2 works at the station. The third and fourth are under scheduled repair.
It was previously reported that the first power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be launched again in the coming days after a planned shutdown to purify the systems. The station was built with Russian investments and launched on November 7. Lithuania stopped all electricity exchanges with Minsk, comparing the situation with modern Chernobyl.
