Core inflation in August compared to July was 0.1%
Food products fell in price by 1.5% in August. Above all vegetables, 13.5% and fruits, 8.4%.
Consumer prices in Ukraine in August 2020 decreased by 0.2% compared to July. Since the beginning of the year, inflation has been 1.2%. This is evidenced by the data from the State Statistics Service, published on Wednesday, September 9.
It is indicated that in annual terms (as of August 2019) inflation accelerated to 2.5% from 2.4% in July 2020.
Core inflation in August compared to July was 0.1%, since the beginning of the year – 1.5%.
Food prices in Ukraine fell by 1.5% in August 2020. Mainly vegetables, by 13.5% and fruits, by 8.4%. At the same time, egg prices increased by 3.4%.
The prices of alcohol and tobacco products increased 0.5%, those of clothing and footwear, decreased 3.0%. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuels increased 5.7% (including gas increased 37.7%).
Household items and appliances increased in price by 0.3%, health services increased by 0.9%, transportation was up 1.2% (including fuel prices increased by 2.8%) , the prices of communications increased 0.9%, recreation and culture grew 0.1%, education grew 0.1%, restaurant and hotel services grew 0.1%.
As reported, in July, the growth rate of consumer prices in Ukraine decreased by 0.6% compared to June. Food products fell in price by 1.5% in July.
It was also reported that in July prices in Ukraine rose less than the National Bank forecast.
