The Ukrainian law enforcement authorities detained four Israeli citizens with almost 120 kilograms of cocaine: according to the investigation, the detainees organized the delivery of the drug in a container from Peru to the commercial sea port of Odessa. This was announced on Sunday, October 25, by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the office, four defendants were detained at one of the warehouses in Odessa. Cocaine worth 40 million dollars was seized from the detainees; the drug, packed in 114 briquettes, arrived in a container with metal tubes.
At the same time, most of the briquettes are marked with letters and numbers. According to the Ukrainian researchers, these marks indicate that the cocaine belongs to “a certain drug union”. Detained Israelis face 10 to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
The special operation in Odessa was carried out as part of the investigation of a criminal case initiated under article 305 (“Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit drugs”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
