In Ukraine, a further increase in coronavirus infection

The number of cases of coronavirus infection in Ukraine increased by 550 people. This is one of the highest rates during the pandemic.

Seven people died in one day, 85 people recovered, the total number of infected people as of May 2 was 11,411, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said in a briefing on Saturday.

“In Ukraine in the last day, 550 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered, 17 of them in children and 96 in medical workers. 117 people were hospitalized in health centers,” said the minister.

According to the Public Health Center of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, people aged 50 and over predominate among those who die with coronavirus: 86 percent.

It is observed that, in general, the disease was confirmed in 771 children and 2,250 doctors, while 1,498 patients have already recovered, of whom 335 are health workers.

The number of deaths from coronavirus-related diseases worldwide reached 238,775 people, an increase of 5,377 per day, the American Johns Hopkins University said.

In total, according to the university, there are 3,344,274 infected people in the world, the growth per day was 87,186 cases of infection.

More than a million people have fully recovered.
