In the Zakharovsky district of the Odessa region, an Opel car collided with a horse. The driver and the animal died, the regional police department reported yesterday.

It is noted that the accident occurred on the night of December 6 in the town of Novaya Shibka.

It was previously established that the driver of an Opel car collided with a horse drawn by a cart on a rounded stretch of road.

“The animal ran uncontrollably down the road towards the car. As a result of the collision, the 69-year-old motorist and the animal died at the scene,” the message says.

An operational and investigative police team worked at the scene. Law enforcement officers establish the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under the article on violation of road safety regulations (part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being resolved.
