On December 16, the UN General Assembly endorsed an updated draft resolution on the human rights situation in Crimea. A key element of the resolution is an appeal to the international community to strengthen interaction to pressure the Russian Federation to force it to fulfill its international obligations as an occupying state. 64 countries voted in favor, 86 abstained, 23 against.
