IS militants detained in the Kiev region

According to the leaders of the international terrorist organization, the militants were supposed to “sit” in Ukraine after the crimes committed.

In the Kiev region, the SBU exposed the cell of the international terrorist organization Islamic State. This was reported by the SBU press center.

Its leader is a militant wanted in one of the Eastern European countries for participating in hostilities in Syria. In 2019, using forged documents, he arrived in Ukraine and picked up a group of “like-minded people”, all of whose members are foreigners.

Special services operatives established that the members of the organization falsified the passports of citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation and carried out the legalization of immigrants from the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia on the territory of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, some of them are active militants of the IS. According to the leaders of the international terrorist organization, they were supposed to “sit” in Ukraine after the crimes committed. The defendants also distributed extremist literature to potential supporters.

Law enforcement officers carried out nine searches, seized an explosive substance containing TNT, an F-1 grenade, 8 rounds of grenade launchers, foreign currency, bank cards, drafts with records of financial transfers to Syria.

The defendants were found to have symbols of the international terrorist organization IS, religious extremist literature, correspondence from members of the organization with IS militants abroad.

It was previously reported that ISIS supporters took the blame for the terror attack in Vienna. The jihadists called the shooting in Vienna a revenge for Austria’s participation in the US coalition against the Islamic State.
