In the Kharkov region, on January 10, residents of the urban-type settlement Vysokiy blocked the road, thus expressing their protest against high utility rates, particularly for gas transportation.
Several local Telegram channels broadcast information about the action. A similar action was also carried out in Bakaley (to see the photo, scroll the news to the end).
It is noted that more than fifty people blocked the M-18 Kharkiv – Simferopol – Alushta – Yalta highway.
Images posted online show that people moved across the crosswalk blocking traffic. Some protesters held signs: “Stop genocide,” “People are not cattle,” “No genocide tariff.”
The protesters complied with quarantine requirements: they all wore masks. They also allowed special vehicles and other cars every 15 minutes. According to eyewitnesses, there was no congestion at the protest site.
The communications department of the regional police assured that 15 policemen provided protection to public order at the rally. They did not obstruct the protest.
It is known that on the same day, a resident of the town of Grocery in the Kharkiv region was also blocked on the road.
“The cars were not allowed, they were all deployed,” writes the Telegram channel “XC | Kharkov”.
