The State Investigation Office detained the head of one of the local prosecutor’s offices in the Chernihiv region, who was involved in the accident near the town of Berezna.

According to preliminary information, around 9:20 a.m. M., The prosecutor, who was driving an Acura car, got into the opposite lane, where he collided with a VAZ car. The driver and passenger of the VAZ died instantly from their injuries.
The RRB investigators detained the right guardian in accordance with art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. The detainee will be informed of a suspected violation of road safety regulations, which will result in the death of several people (part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The RRB is preparing a petition for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
If the prosecutor is proven guilty, he faces a prison sentence of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years.
