1915 Russians have died since the start of the pandemic. At the same time, the number of recoveries exceeded 34 thousand.

In Russia, the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus has accelerated again. During the last day, 11,012 cases of the disease (+ 5.5%) were detected in 83 regions of the country, which is very close to the record level recorded this week. This was reported by the operational headquarters to combat the spread of the pandemic on Sunday, May 10.

It is indicated that among the new patients, 42.4% had no symptoms of the disease. In total, 209 688 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country, of which almost 110 thousand in Moscow.

So far, Russia remains in fifth place in the total number of cases, but the gap with Great Britain (fourth place, 216.5 thousand) and Italy (third place, 218.2 thousand), according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, continues to close rapidly.

In Russia overall, 88 deaths were recorded per day, including 58 in Moscow. The total number of deaths in the Russian Federation reached 1,915. Interestingly, with a comparable number of people infected with other countries, the official number of victims in Russia is relatively low. So in the UK 31 662 people died and Italy – 30 395 people. And in France, which ranks sixth in the world in number of infected people (more than 176 thousand), 26,313 patients died.

2,390 people recovered in Russia per day, including 1,011 in Moscow. The total number of patients discharged from the country is 34,306.

Earlier this week, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the actual number of infected coronaviruses in the city is around 300,000 people.
