In Russia, a new weekly high of coronavirus

Against the background of an increase in the number of infections in Russia, the number of people recovered has also increased unprecedentedly, to more than 175 thousand per week.

In Russia, during the last seven days, more than 200 thousand new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been identified. This is a new record since the beginning of the pandemic, reports TASS, citing data from the Infection Control Operations Center on Sunday, December 27.

“From December 21 to 27, the headquarters reported 201,871 infected compared to 194,449 a week earlier. Thus, 3.8% more infected were detected in the country than in the previous seven days,” the statement read.

At the same time, it is indicated that the number of people recovered increased by 175,172, which was the highest since the beginning of December. Last week, the headquarters reported 169,422 Russians recovered. The proportion of patients already discharged within seven days increased from 79.9% to 80.3%.

The number of deaths this week turned out to be roughly the same as before: 3,920 versus 3,917. The mortality rate from a new infection also remained almost unchanged, increasing from 1.79% to 1.8%.

On the eve it was learned that in Russia the number of people infected by coronavirus exceeded 3 million people. In just one day, another 29,200 people were infected. More than 560 Russians have died.
