In the suburb of St. Petersburg (Russia), a man took six children hostage. RIA Novosti was informed about this by a source in the security forces.

They are in an apartment in one of the houses in the city of Kolpino. According to the agency interlocutor, the attacker is drunk and armed with an ax.

The police were contacted by his wife, who was unable to enter the apartment. Law enforcement officers are negotiating with a man.

“Fontanka” writes that the man threatens to kill the children if the police do not comply with his demands, but what the man wants is unknown.

The Baza Telegram channel reports that the attacker is Denis Beltyukov, 38. According to the channel, before taking hostages, the man allegedly caught his wife for treason, after which he kicked her out of the apartment and began threatening the children. Later, he announced that he agreed to exchange the children for his wife. Among the children taken hostage, three are Beltyukov’s own children.





Later, the channel also published a video of the scene of the incident, in which a man holds a knife to the boy’s throat and yells at the police.
