Scientists have concluded that the victims are a man of high social status and his slave
Using plaster, the scientists managed to recreate the figures and postures of the people at the time of their death. They were two men.
In Italy, near the ancient city of Pompeii, the remains of two victims of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 were discovered.
According to the local archaeological park site, the bodies were found in the underground part of a country house in Civita Juliana. The experts concluded that the victims were a man of high social status at the age of 30-40 years and his slave, who was between 18 and 25 years old. The young man was found to have spinal injuries indicating that he was doing heavy physical work.
Scientists believe that the victims of the eruption were found dead due to the pyroclastic flow, which was a mixture of high-temperature volcanic gases, ash and debris. The current burst into the room from various directions and two men were trapped.
When cavities were found under a layer of ash, in which the remains of the victims of the eruption were located, plaster was poured into them, which allowed to recreate the figures and postures of the people at the time of death.
Excavations at Civita Juliana began in 2017. Previously, the remains of three horses were found in a team there.
Earlier in Pompeii, three houses were opened to tourists, which have been under restoration for six years. One of them is supposedly a brothel.
