Metropolitan police said the 48-year-old foreigner was bringing 300 grams of cocaine to Kiev for sale. Now the man faces up to 12 years in prison with asset forfeiture.

The police arrested a foreigner, suspected of transporting 300 grams of cocaine with the aim of its subsequent sale. This was reported in the press service of the Kiev police on December 31.

The militiamen said they first stopped a car with foreign numbers. They searched the cabin and found a bag containing a white powdery substance similar to cocaine.

“The seizure was sent for an expert study. In the course of the priority investigative actions, the law enforcement officers established that a 48-year-old citizen from another state was bringing 300 grams of cocaine to the capital for the purpose of its subsequent sale,” reported.

At black market prices, the cost of the seized drugs is about 2.5 million hryvnia, police said.

The man was informed of a suspicion of a crime under Part 3 of art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transport, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in particularly large quantities). He faces up to twelve years in prison with asset forfeiture.
