At the moment, the situation with the incidence of the coronavirus in educational institutions is controlled, but the dynamics are negative, said the Kyiv City State Administration.

Kiev schools are recommended to start their fall break on October 21. This is due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the holding of local elections. This was reported by the State Administration of the City of Kiev on Wednesday, October 7.

“According to the Department of Education and Science of the Kiev City State Administration, schoolchildren will return to their desks in a week, on October 28,” the message says.

Initially, the fall holidays were scheduled from October 26 to November 1.

It is noted that at the moment the situation with the incidence of the coronavirus in educational institutions is controlled, but the dynamics is negative. Schools and kindergartens continue to operate in accordance with certain regulations.

To strengthen security against the epidemic, Kiev has increased funding for the purchase of the necessary funds for schools from 30 to 40 million hryvnia. For almost UAH 32 million, disinfectants and detergents have been purchased for the sanitary and hygienic treatment of premises and daily cleaning during the educational process, personal protective equipment, non-contact thermometers, paper towels, etc.

We will recall, the Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov announced an additional vacation for schoolchildren. There was no talk of postponing his appointments.

As you know, the local elections in Ukraine will be held on October 25 this year.
