A private notary from the Kiev city notary district and his intermediary were arrested for extortion and for receiving a bribe worth UAH 1.2 million.

As reported on the website of the Attorney General’s Office, a bribe was demanded to influence the state registry to register a complex of plant buildings with an area of ​​15 thousand square meters. m, located in the village. In case of refusal, the notary threatened the businessman with creating problems with the registration of this property.

The funds were transferred in three stages. During the first two “tranches”, the notary received through an intermediary $ 16 thousand and 28 thousand UAH. On December 4, during the transfer of the last “tranche” for an amount of $ 25,000, the extortionists were arrested.

Both detainees were informed of suspicions under Part 3 of article 369-2 (receiving for prior conspiracy of a group of persons an illegal benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform the functions of the State) of the Code Ukrainian criminal. The question of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
