The doctor’s death was announced by the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, on his Facebook page.
“It is impossible to prepare for death. Each person faces the loss of loved ones, relatives, many are familiar with the pain of loss … I offer my sincere condolences to family and friends. Eternal memories!” He wrote Marcinkiv.
He did not indicate the cause of Kovalyuk’s death.
According to Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the local publication, on May 4, Marcinkiv said in a briefing that Kovalyuk was hospitalized with Covid-19 in serious condition.
“We have two seriously ill patients, including the head of the Frankivsk ambulance station. His condition has stabilized, but remains serious. These patients are receiving oxygen therapy, “said the mayor.
