The State Security Department described as false the statement of the popular deputy of Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak about the disappearance of the video, which was evidence in the criminal process for pressing buttons during the appointment of Sergei Shkarlet as Minister of Education. Zheleznyak insists that the UGO leadership allowed the entry to be deleted.
On February 16, Golos People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported on Telegram about the disappearance of a video recording confirming that during the vote for the appointment of Sergei Shkarlet as Minister of Education in the Rada, a button was pressed.
“The official video of Shkarlet’s button press miraculously evaporated after 14 days. I remind you that this was evidence in a criminal case,” he wrote after meeting with representatives from the Department of State Security.
The UGO press service said in a comment to LIGA.net that Zheleznyak’s statement was not true.
The agency’s website published a statement in which, without specifying the names and surnames, they stated that messages about the alleged confirmation State Guard Office the fact of the loss of the video from the Rada session room contains false and manipulative information. They added that the owner and administrator of information such as the voting register in the Rada is the apparatus of parliament.
Zheleznyak on Facebook replied that only UGO employees have access to the video in Rada’s room.
“Only you had an official video confirming a crime when the minister was appointed. You allowed the video of a crime to be removed after 14 days. Your leadership did not make a single move to preserve it. Most importantly, trying to transfer responsibility. from yourself to the Supreme Office. We are happy. People to whom I personally and many of my colleagues are highly respected, and I am sure of your desire to provide a video. Therefore, dear UGO leaders, if I want to continue communication in this way, well. Expect a response according to the actions of intentional concealment of a crime. ” – wrote.
Zheleznyak also spoke about the disappearance of the video during the conciliation council in the Rada on February 15. The President of Parliament, Dmitry Razumkov, replied that the technical means had already been transferred to the Rada.
“If the information that there is no video recording is confirmed, I think we will look for mechanisms to restore them within our powers,” Razumkov said.
In June 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Shkarlet Deputy Minister – Acting Minister of Education. Immediately after that, Shkarlet was accused of plagiarizing various scientific papers. The official himself denied the presence of incorrect loans in his works. He stated that “he is not obliged to consult all articles on the Internet” and refers “only to the original source”.
On December 17, the Rada appointed Shkarlet as Minister of Education, despite the decision of the profile committee and protests from representatives of the educational and scientific community. 226 popular deputies voted for the required minimum 226.
This appointment sparked rallies of students and university representatives, and on December 24, the Golos party announced that there were cases of button pressing during voting. On January 18, it was learned that the Attorney General’s Office opened a criminal proceeding for the fact of a possible non-personal vote.
