In the Cherkasy region, two fishermen pushed a 14-year-old girl onto the ice and fell into the river, but they drowned themselves.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in the Cherkasy region. The tragedy took place on December 25 at approximately 11:00 in the village of Khlipnovka on the Gniloy Tikich River.
“Men born in 1969 and 1993, along with a 14-year-old girl, were on the ice. After a while the ice began to crack under them, people found themselves in the water. The adults managed to push the boy out of the icy water onto the ice surface, but they couldn’t escape themselves. ” he said in the message.
Rescue teams who arrived at the scene pulled the body of a victim out of the water.
To search for the second victim, the Smelyanskaya search and rescue group of the communal diving and rescue service participated. The man’s body was found three hours later.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, a married couple drowned near the town of Liman in the Odessa region. As it turned out, there is a dangerous current that caused the tragedy. However, local authorities are unaware of the beach where the problem occurred.
