Capturing the parliament rostrum in Yerevan demands a new government

According to the protesters, the Prime Minister of Armenia had no right to make crucial decisions for the country without discussing it with the general public.

In Armenia, protesters have seized the parliament rostrum and are demanding the formation of a new government that can cancel participation in the agreements on the cessation of hostilities in Karabakh. This was announced on Tuesday, November 10, RIA Novosti reported.

A small number of guards tried to block the passage of the crowd, but the protesters literally crushed the guards and stormed the conference room, after which they climbed to the podium, from where they began to demand the continuation of hostilities in Karabakh, write the newspaper.

“We demand Nikol Pashinyan. Who gave him the right to sign this?” – quotes TASS breaking into the session hall of the Armenian parliament.

The agency reports that the opposition parliamentary faction “Prosperous Armenia” announced its intention to convene an extraordinary session of the legislative body for Yerevan to withdraw from the Karabakh accords. MP Naira Zohrabyan told reporters this on Tuesday.

“We are now consulting with lawyers on how to proceed. But to cancel this declaration, and this is still only a declaration, an extraordinary session of parliament is required. We are now working on this,” he said.

In addition, several thousand people gathered in the Republic Square in Yerevan in front of the Armenian government building. Various slogans and calls are heard in the crowd, including those to move towards the parliament building and the presidential palace, to block the road to the airport to prevent the escape of members of the government.

Earlier, residents of Armenia, unhappy with the decision to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, beat up the speaker of the republic’s parliament Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.

Recall, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a declaration to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
