Social Policy Minister Marina Lazebnaya announced that the indexation of pensions in 2021 will begin in March. Broadly speaking, we are talking about increasing payments by 11%. However, not everyone can get such a raise.

How many people will get the raise?
Last year, within the framework of indexation, the payment for 6.9 million people was increased. And this despite the fact that some 11.4 million pensioners live in the country. This year, you can count on the same number of Ukrainians with increases.
Without increase will remain:

those who received the minimum wage or below the average;

Ukrainians who have significant increases in pensions (for example, due to additional seniority);

those who received a pension under a special law (for example, security officers).
The point is that the “net” size of the pension is rising. The one that was calculated by the formula. But for some, this size is less than the minimum, someone receives age increases (80 years from 2020 and 75 years from 2021), others have seniority allowances.
And if after modernizing the “clean” pension it turns out that its size remains at the same level, the increase will not be paid.
Who will receive and how much?
On average, the size of the increase will be around 11%. The amount of the increase will be different for everyone. First of all, it depends on the size of the salaries. For example, in 2019, with the same recalculation, 8.1 million pensioners received an increase, an average of 255 UAH. Each pension was collected individually. So, from 100 to 400 UAH were received by 2.5 million people, from 400 to 700 UAH – more than 1.5 million, from 700 to 1000 UAH – 500 thousand citizens. Another 2.1 million pensioners with long work experience and a pension below 1,700 hryvnia received one-time payments in the amount of 2,410 hryvnia.
As OBOZREVATEL already wrote, with a pension of 3.5 thousand UAH, the amount of the increase can be about 385 UAH. If the decision is postponed from March, for example, to December, the Ukrainians will lose 3.4 thousand UAH.
