The president of the United States, Joe Biden, will leave the Senate to decide on new actions regarding the impeachment of Donald Trump.
This was stated during the briefing of the White House press secretary, Jen Psaki.
According to her, Biden will leave technical questions to senators regarding the timing and details of the procedure.
«We are confident that, like the American people, the Senate can also solve multiple problems simultaneously, fulfill its constitutional obligations, and at the same time continue to address the problems of the American people, ”added Psaki.
He did not discuss Biden’s attitude to the idea of banning Trump from running for president again.
On January 13, the House of Representatives passed a resolution impeaching Trump after his supporters stormed Congress, in which five people were killed. Now the question of impeachment will be considered by the Senate, the highest chamber of Congress.
Donald Trump is the only president of the United States to be indicted a second time. For the first time, the impeachment procedure was announced after Trump’s conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who called for reopening the investigation into Burisma, with which the son of Democrat Joe Biden Hunter is associated.
The president of the United States was accused of pressuring Zelensky to dirty Biden, the House of Representatives indicted him, but the Senate acquitted him completely.
