People’s Deputy of the Opposition Bloc – For Life, Ilya Kiva published a photo in which he tried on a hat with Soviet symbols.
The People’s Deputy published the image on his Facebook page. In the caption of the photo, the politician asked for his arrest.
“Nazi, arrest me! With this star, my grandfather cut the throats of the Nazis!” – posted on the Kiva social network.
Note that the picture shows the people’s deputy wearing a soldier’s winter hat with ear flaps from the time of the USSR. The headdress represents a Soviet star with a hammer and sickle.
Let us clarify that according to the Law of Ukraine “On the condemnation of totalitarian communist and National Socialist (Nazi) regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of the promotion of their symbols”, adopted in 2015, it is said about criminal liability for production, distribution and public use of such symbols: freedom of up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same period, with or without confiscation of property.
We will recall that in Lviv criminal proceedings began against a man who appeared in a cafe wearing a hat with ear flaps with the image of the emblem of the Soviet Union – a hammer and sickle.
