The story of the popular Swedish IKEA that entered the Ukrainian market went on for a long time: The company announced its plans in 2017, but did not go beyond the statements. Finally it happened: Last week IKEA officially announced the launch of an online store in Ukraine. On May 14, the order function was available on the site. Now in the assortment of the ikea.ua online store there are around three thousand five hundred stalls. This is much less than what is in the company’s assortment (approximately 12,000 products).
Not for the sake of advertising, but out of curiosity, the Informant decided to check how the online store works and how easy it is to order GRUNDAVADNETT or, for example, HULTET.
On the site, you need to select the product category and find the unit that interests you. Besides the mysterious characteristic names of the store, nothing unusual.
After choosing the “wunderwaffle” you need, put it in the basket with the special icon. In general, everything is clear here, you hardly need to say how to use online stores. Move on.
The next step is to place an order. And here you can have the first difficulties. Either because of the hype about opening, or why, downloading takes a long time. A long time.

If you are lucky, you will proceed to the actual design. We are persistent, so we got here. At this stage, you will be asked to fill out an extensive form with personal information, address, postal code and more.
The following is the choice of delivery method. If you live in Kiev, you can pick up your order at the emission points. So far there are two of them:
- Auchan Rive Gauche (Auchan Rive Gauche) at Zdolbunovskaya, 17;
- Metro Cash & Carry at 26-in Stepan Bandera Avenue.
You can also request a targeted delivery. It is true that you will not find the usual delivery to the Novaya Poshta branch, nor the good old Ukrposhta. IKEA logistics services are provided by DB Schenker. Don’t be quick to rejoice. It is very possible that the amount of delivery to your city is several times the cost of the product itself.

So far, the findings are disappointing: The Swedish retailer’s online retailer was not ready for the thousands of Ukrainians who are eager to get new chandeliers, stuffed sharks, and hanging plant pots. It is hoped that these troublesome bugs will be removed in the very near future.
Until then, we do not advise that you bother how much in vain, considering hundreds of such household items. Better to wait a bit (hopefully) and order quickly and conveniently.
