Ibrahimovic’s brace helped Milan secure an away win over Napoli

The centerpiece of matchday eight of the Italian Serie A was the match between Naples and Milan, who, before the start of the next football weekend, were among the leading teams in the national championship. Gennaro Gattuso’s team acted as a catch-up side, who, at the same time, did not have the most confident results in previous fights, so with special anger he had to turn to this game.

However, on the lawn of the “San Paolo” stadium there were completely different designs. The Neapolitans lost the opening segment of the confrontation, finding themselves under great pressure from their rivals, and conceded a relatively quick ball for fights in a similar state as early as the 20th minute, having withstood several dangerous attacks from opponents before. With the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Italian teams do not know how to face the start of the new season, so it is not surprising that it was the Milan striker who managed to open the scoring, completing the service from the left wing of Hernández with a head butt.

Those of Stefano Pioli decided not to rush to finish off the rival immediately after the success achieved, however, they literally went over the edge, not always fully facing the mobile group of players in front of Napoli’s attack. And yet the Rossoneri went into halftime with an advantage on the scoreboard.

The opening segment of the second half is the most boring period of the briefing, but what a period of dangerous situations has replaced it! In the 55th minute, Zlatan Ibrahimovic landed his second effective hit in this fight, pushing the ball over the goal line with his knee at the end of service from Rebić’s left wing. Napoli scored an emotional goal in the 7th minute, thanks to an accurate shot from Mertens, but Timue Bakayoko deprived his team of all hope of salvation, receiving a second yellow card in the 65th minute.

“Milan” only had to bring the match to its logical conclusion in terms of numerical advantage, to which Pioli’s team not only managed, but also managed to increase the distance on the scoreboard. In the last of five compensated minutes, Jens Petter Hauge escaped down the left wing from an outside penalty under Bennasser’s transfer, after which he fired from a sharp angle over the head of goalkeeper Alex Meret. The Rossoneri have regained the front row without letting Sassuolo settle into it.

In the next round, Milan will face Fiorentina at home, while Naples will host Roma in Naples.
