“I look forward to watching the Dynamo – Shakhtar match”

The former coach of the Ukrainian national team and Dynamo shared his expectations for the next Dynamo – Shakhtar match, and also summarized the failed week of the European Cup.

– Leonid Iosifovich, what do you expect from the Dynamo – Shakhtar match?

– I’m looking forward to seeing! And Dynamo was beheaded to a certain extent, and Shakhtar was beheaded to a certain extent. Both teams will not be in optimal lineups. I think it will be an interesting game. I want to see the derby as it was before. Recently, these were not the same games in terms of entertainment. And I want a vacation and a quality game. Although even when there were games with spectators, interest in the Ukrainian classic disappeared. Previously, 50-60 thousand went to Dynamo – Shakhtar. And recently 8-10 thousand arrived. In terms of intrigue, it all remained, but people somehow started treating it a little differently. Maybe other problems in people. Also, they are still unable to enter the stadiums. Therefore, the derby turned into a friendly match.

– What, in your opinion, happened to Shakhtar in the game against Borussia M?

– Pitmen head coach Luis Castro said it was a humiliating loss. But that happens in football. Although losing with such a great score to a team of Shakhtar level, I think it’s a bit wrong. And, as Castro said, this is such a humiliating defeat, after which it takes time to recover. But this is professional football. We must turn the page, draw conclusions and move on.

– Do you think there will be a different match in Mönchengladbach? Even Borussia coach Marco Rose said it would be a completely different match.

– Interestingly, in the current situation it is easier for teams to play away than at home. Home games, in addition to the result, require a show. But the financial side affects, as clubs receive huge bonuses from UEFA for their victories. I can say that Borussia Mönchengladbach is a pretty good and serious team. It is one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga. I think the German team at home will also create problems for Shakhtar.

– What can you say about Dynamo? Did you like the game of the people of Kiev?

– In any case, considering the situation in which the Dynamo was, it is difficult to give an objective assessment of all this. Several prominent footballers did not play for good reasons. But the young men who were playing seemed decent. Is a good game. Although I was afraid of this match. Especially Barcelona were dangerous in the first 10-15 minutes. It was a pretty good game played by the people of Kiev. I think that in the current state of Barcelona, ​​we should not look for the problem in the departure of Suárez. There are two central defenders: this is the entrance court. Dinamo scored against the Catalans. But also two or three moments were not fulfilled and this is only happiness for Barcelona. Of course, this also happened thanks to the confident play under Ter Stegen, who was at a high level that night.

– And the young goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret showed himself in the game with Barcelona. Has serious competition appeared for Georgy Buschan?

– Dynamo doesn’t just have Buschan. They also have Boyko. Yes, we can only be happy to have another promising goalkeeper. We know of him that he is one of the most promising goalkeepers. But besides everything, he is still young and cold-blooded. Usually, in such games with such rivals, some incidents occur, as some soccer players cannot control their emotions and nerves. And Nesheret calmly dealt with all angular standards. It was up to the task. He did everything on time, with skill and reliability. So I think we have another promising goalkeeper. Nescheret must be watched and watched. You can trust it. If he didn’t disappoint in the game against Barcelona, ​​I think he should have opportunities.

– Do you think the Kenzer goal was not counted correctly?

– There, and for the second time after a corner kick, the ball flew down the same path. It is necessary to reject this, because any referee in any game will find a reason to cancel the goal. And no one will prove him wrong. Because the ball, along the path that it flew, had to cross the line. But, in principle, the decision is at the discretion of the referee. There was also a corner, after which they gave a free kick in favor of Barcelona. This is an opportunity for the judges if they sympathize with a team. And they all sympathize with Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Bayern. The matches of these teams are judged differently by the referee. He feared that the Dynamo would lose their face in this match, but the Kiev team looked convincing enough.

– What do you think of Shabanov’s game, who debuted in the Champions League?

– Yesterday I discussed this with the president of the Dynamo. As for defense, everything was closed. He performed his defensive duties quite professionally. And his attacking game? He is a defender of a non-offensive plan. Tasked with shutting down a certain area, he managed.

– “Zarya” lost to AEK. Why did the people of Lugansk get off to such a disastrous start in the Europa League?

– “Zorya” does not have many players who were in the previous season. So this is a different team. It is an art to reconstruct from Ukrainian football to European. Dynamo was able to rebuild. Shakhtar couldn’t rebuild, Zorya couldn’t rebuild. In Europe, football is different, everything is a little faster there, a different quality of play, different speeds. Not all teams can rebuild and play with dignity in European competition. Of course it is difficult. Our disadvantage is that the UPL teams play a bit differently from the football they play in Europe. But Zarya needs to take everything apart, turn the page and keep playing. Because walking with your head down is not a solution to a problem. We need to do an analysis and move on.

– Do you think Zorya and Dynamo can score points in the next games?

– Barcelona will find it ten times easier to play away than at home. The Dynamo should try to beat Barcelona and Juventus, but I think these two teams have practically left the group. The Dynamo will have a key match in Kiev with Ferencvaros. I’ve seen a lot of Ferencváros away games. They can put your nerves to the test. And an example of this: how they won the qualifying games and reached the Champions League. These are just those games.
