Hyundai to supply 10 new high-speed electric trains
The company said it is ready to provide financing for various projects. We are especially interested in building a high-speed railway and supplying 10 new high-speed electric trains.
The South Korean company Hyundai will provide Ukraine with a grant of two million dollars for the development of a preliminary feasibility study (pre-feasibility study) for the construction of a high-speed railway in the euro format. This was announced on Monday February 22 by Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krykliy during the Ukraine-30 forum. Infrastructure.
“In March, we have a delegation of representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia who are going (to Korea – ed.). They will be signed, including memoranda … Two million dollars are allocated for the development of a pre Se signed a feasibility study for the implementation of this project, as well as cooperation agreements and we are preparing an intergovernmental agreement to implement this project on a large scale, ”said Krikliy.
Subsequently, Hyundai’s Vice President of Commercial Transportation and Energy Division Yun Suk Choi, during a video broadcast at the forum, also expressed his support for the company in developing the railway transportation industry in Ukraine.
“To create the railway industry in Ukraine, Hyundai Corporation, as a long-term partner, wishes to join your development plan. At this stage, we are ready to provide financing for various projects. He noted that the company expects support for projects from the Korean government; we are talking about supplying Ukraine with 10 high-speed trains.
Yun Suk Choi noted that negotiations are underway on the possibility of investing in Ukraine “and transferring technologies to localize the production of complex technologies.” In addition, a Hyundai representative invited the President of Ukraine and government representatives to Hyundai’s facilities in Korea.

By the way, today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Ukraine-30 forum said that new trains will appear in Ukraine, thanks to which passengers will travel three to four hours.
