The South Korean company Hyundai will provide Ukraine with a grant of two million dollars for the development of a preliminary feasibility study (pre-feasibility study) for the construction of a high-speed railway in the euro format. This was announced on Monday February 22 by Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krykliy during the Ukraine-30 forum. Infrastructure.

“In March, we have a delegation of representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia who are going (to Korea – ed.). Subsequently, Hyundai’s Vice President of Commercial Transportation and Energy Division Yun Suk Choi, during a video broadcast at the forum, also expressed his support for the company in developing the railway transportation industry in Ukraine.

“To create the railway industry in Ukraine, Hyundai Corporation, as a long-term partner, wishes to join your development plan. At this stage, we are ready to provide financing for various projects. He noted that the company expects support for projects from the Korean government; we are talking about supplying Ukraine with 10 high-speed trains.

Yun Suk Choi noted that negotiations are underway on the possibility of investing in Ukraine “and transferring technologies to localize the production of complex technologies.” In addition, a Hyundai representative invited the President of Ukraine and government representatives to Hyundai’s facilities in Korea.
