The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a report on the coronavirus vaccine released by the American company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech. Six participants died during drug trials, the document says.
The report appeared on the FDA website.
Not all of those who died received the vaccine. Two of them were injected with the real drug and the rest a placebo. All those who died had health problems and chronic diseases. Furthermore, half of them were over 55 years old.
Then, one of the vaccinated had atherosclerosis and obesity. He died three days after the introduction of the first part of the drug. Another volunteer went into cardiac arrest 60 days after the second part of the injection. Three days later he died.
Two patients in the placebo group died of heart attack and stroke. The cause of death of two more people is being investigated.
At the same time, the report says that the vaccine guarantees protection after the first dose, so overall, the drug is safe and effective.
Earlier, Strana reported that by the end of the year, Pfizer will release half of the vaccine as planned.
We also write that the United States has already announced a shortage of this vaccine.
