Picodi analysts compared the prices of the iPhone 12 Pro (128GB) with the average salary in several dozen countries and calculated how much it takes for residents of one state or another to make money for Apple’s new flagship.

In Ukraine, the iPhone 12 Pro in the 128GB version costs 39,999 UAH. At the same time, according to the State Statistics Service, the average salary is 11,998 UAH (9,658 UAH after tax). In this way, The average Ukrainian must work 87 days to earn money with the iPhone 12 Pro – and at the same time there is nothing.
But there is also good news: Compared to last year’s iPhone index, Ukraine’s performance improved by 9.7 days.
- The high level of income in Switzerland, USA and Australia allows you to make money with a new iPhone in 4.4, 6.1 and 6.6 days, respectively.
- The worst result of all the countries where the price of the new iPhone 12 Pro is known is in the Philippines: the average resident has to work on the iPhone for 88.2 days.
- In Germany and Poland, a new device is equivalent to a cost of 9.7 and 28.3 business days.
Methodology
- IPhone 2020 Index is based on official iPhone 12 Pro (128GB) prices at local Apple stores or authorized resellers.
- Average salaries are obtained from the websites of the relevant national statistical offices or ministries and are current at the time the iPhone prices are published in a particular country.
- After-tax salary calculated using local salary calculators. The monthly salary was divided by 21, the average number of working days in a month. In countries where statistical offices use weekly rates, income was divided by 5.
