After a modest transfer campaign in the summer, Liverpool blew up the media space with the transitions of midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.

For the Bayern and Wolverhampton players, Liverpool paid £ 20m and £ 41m, respectively, not counting various bonuses. However, these amounts do not seem as impressive as at first glance. Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has negotiated an installment plan with both clubs that will allow the Reds to pay these amounts for years to come.

So after the immediate transition, Bavaria received just £ 5 million for Thiago. The remainder of this amount will be paid over the next four years. The agreement between the parties also includes several bonuses of £ 5 million, for which the total could amount to £ 25 million.

As for Zhota, in the next 12 months Liverpool will have to pay only 10% of his transfer amount of 41 million pounds, which, including bonuses, could amount to 45 million pounds.

“Lobos” agreed to receive from Merseysides only about 4 million pounds at a time, but the transfer back from defender Key-Yan Hoover in the amount of 9 million pounds they paid in full. Likewise, the ‘reds’ can receive an additional 4.5 million pounds for the Dutch footballer and 15% of the amount of his possible transfer.

Thus, in this difficult and financially unstable period, Liverpool were able to launch two transfers of high-profile players, who could potentially take a place in the first team, and at the same time they went to near zero.
