On Wednesday night in the Georgian city of Zugdidi, a special operation was completed to capture a man who had taken hostages in a bank. People who were in the building for several hours were released.

According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
Let us remind you that 19 people were taken hostage, including Bank of Georgia employees and customers. The attacker was armed with a machine gun and a grenade.
Among his demands were $ 500,000 in cash, as well as that law enforcement officers leave the city center and give him the opportunity to leave unhindered.
Regarding this incident, the Georgian Ministry of the Interior opened a case under three articles of the Penal Code: robbery; acquisition, storage and illegal possession of weapons; hostage taking.
It was previously reported that in the French city of Le Havre, a man took hostages in one of the bank branches. The man held hostages for about six hours, after which he was arrested.
Furthermore, in Kiev, a man seized a bank branch and took one of the employees hostage; the attacker was detained by the Ukrainian Security Service and is now in custody.
