Hospital for COVID-19 patients caught fire in Romania, at least 10 people died

According to preliminary data, a fire in a hospital for those infected by coronavirus in the Romanian city of Piatra Neamt was caused by a short circuit.

On November 14, in the Romanian city of Piatra Neamt, a fire broke out in a hospital where people infected with coronavirus are being treated; 10 dead and seven wounded are already known. This is reported by Mediafax.ro.

The fire occurred in the intensive care unit. The fire has already gone out.

Among the victims are two doctors and two nurses.

One of the doctors, the doctor on duty, is in serious condition, he was transferred to a hospital in Bucharest. He tried to save patients and suffered multiple burns.

Authorities have named the preliminary cause of the fire: a short circuit, Aleph News writes.

All the dead were infected with the coronavirus, they were connected to oxygen.

As of November 14, more than 353 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Romania; 8684 COVID-19 patients have died in the country since the start of the epidemic.
