Hospital director “made” millions in the purchase of medical equipment – SBU

During state purchases, the cost of equipment was artificially exaggerated. So, the “entrepreneurs” managed to get more than UAH 3 million.

The director of one of the medical institutions in Cherkassy embezzled millions of budget funds for the acquisition of medical equipment. This was reported by the SBU on Wednesday, November 11.

The hospital management has concluded an agreement with a Kiev company for almost 15 million hryvnia for the purchase of expensive diagnostic equipment. During the state contracting procedure, the “entrepreneurs” artificially inflated the cost of the equipment, taking over 3 million hryvnia from the city budget.

Now the head of the medical institution has been informed about the suspicion of official negligence, which involved significant losses for the state. The issue of choosing a preventive measure and removing him from office is being resolved.

We will recall that earlier in the Lugansk region the money allocated for the repair of schools and hospitals was allocated. Those involved in the scheme “repaired” 17 social facilities for a total amount of more than 50 million UAH.

It was also reported that “businessmen” have seized 32 vessels from the Ministry of Infrastructure. The barges were taken abroad, where they were retrofitted and later used in the Ukrainian waters area using forged documents.
