Holidays are not canceled: Ukraine will not introduce a blockade until the new year – media

The long-awaited New Year holidays were threatened as soon as news of a possible closure began to emerge.

However, some media representatives managed to discover that the tightening of the quarantine is not expected until the new year. This is reported by “Segodnya”, referring to personal sources in the Cabinet. According to the source, no lockdown will be introduced in Ukraine except for a “total coronavirus catastrophe”. Whether to toughen the quarantine or not, the authorities will decide after the new year.

Recall that a government meeting was held today, during which the weekend’s quarantine was canceled. Yesterday, December 1, Ukraine’s Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that they did not plan to discuss introducing a lockdown at the meeting. Instead, the main topic on the agenda was regulations regarding the medical system.

Earlier, Maxim Stepanov said that in Ukraine it is necessary to introduce a blockade for at least three weeks. At the same time, he explained why the weekend quarantine had failed.

Vgorode also reported that NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov said the quarantine will be tightened for sure, but now the picture looks somewhat different.
