On Friday, December 11, in Hochfilzen, Austria, the men’s sprint race took place as part of the third stage of the World Cup.
The Norwegian national team decided to take a chance and put their biathletes in the late start group, and it was good. For the second part of the race, the lenses of the television cameras did not separate from the Norwegians, and not only because of their star status, but also because of their good chances of taking a medal.
But only one Norwegian managed to get on the podium, but immediately to the first step. Johannes Dale reached all 10 goals and won his career World Cup debut. The French Quentin Fillon Maillet and Fabienne Claude accompanied him on the podium.
Johannes Boe lost a medal for the first time this season, losing 12 seconds to Claude and finishing fourth. And Tarjei Bo, who started below the last number 108, showed the final eleventh time.
Only one Ukrainian managed to score points in the general classification. Artem Prima missed a goal in the standing position and closed the top 30. Anton Dudchenko was able to qualify for the chase with the same shooting precision, and for Pidruchny, Tsymbal and Tkalenko, personal races in the third stage of the World Cup were over.
