During a business trip to the Kharkiv region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy examined the progress of rebuilding roads of local and state importance from a helicopter.
As reported in the Office of the President, this year in the Kharkiv region they plan to repair 357 km of public roads, including 281 km of national roads, 76 km of local roads.
As of September 1, 200 km of the upper layer of the road surface have been equipped on national roads and 76 km on local roads.
From helicopter: Zelensky was shown the state of the roads in the Kharkiv region.
In particular, repair work is being completed on the stretch of the M-03 Kiev – Kharkov – Dolzhansky highway (from the district around Kharkov to the border with the Donetsk region). The length of the highway within Kharkiv is 130 km, 85 km of the highway will be upgraded in 2020.
Work is also continuing on the section of the H-26 Chuguev – Melovoe highway (from Chuguev to the border with the Lugansk region). The total length of the highway in the Kharkiv region is 108 km. Plans for 2020 are to renew 68.4 km of road. Taking into account the repairs of previous years and the current one, the road will be completely rehabilitated. It is one of the main transport arteries connecting the Kharkov and Luhansk regions.
“It is important that this road goes to Donbass, where we have territories that are temporarily not under our control,” Zelensky said.
In addition, the repair of the section of the P-51 Merefa – Lozovaya – Pavlograd highway (from Merefa to the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region) continues. The length of the highway in the region is 132 km. This year, 60.7 km of the asphalt concrete top layer were installed.
On the stretch of highway T-21-04 Kharkov – Volchansk – the checkpoint “Chugunovka” is planned to upgrade 23.2 km of the highway. Work begins in September.
Also in the Kharkiv region, 12 bridges are planned to be restored, work has already started on four of them.
