The heating season in Odessa will begin on Monday, October 26. So said the director of the municipal services department, Dmitry Zheman.
The supply of heat to houses could have started much earlier. By October 15, all the boiler rooms in the cities were ready to go. But the weather was warm outside and the city council decided to postpone the start of the heating season until the end of the month.
Since the air temperature in Odessa has dropped dramatically in recent days, by October 26 all heat sources in the city will be launched and gradually the batteries in the houses will begin to heat up.
Recall that the mayor of the city Gennady Trukhanov said that local residents were against the launch of cogeneration and boiler rooms. People didn’t want to pay for heat until it was critically cold outside. Trukhanov emphasized that it is time to start warming up in schools, kindergartens and hospitals. Especially in the central part of the city, which is served by the CHP. After all, it takes time to get a thermal power plant up and running.
We also report that in the fourth week of October, meteorologists predicted a strong cooling. During the day, the air temperature will warm up to 13-18 degrees Celsius, and at night in the city it will sharply cool down to 3-8 degrees with a plus sign.
