In Greece, until January 11, the quarantine was extended and tightened due to the coronavirus. From 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 3 to 6:00 a.m. on January 11, all activities and services that were gradually allowed before Christmas were suspended.
This was announced by the official representative of the country’s government Stelios Petsas.
Bookstores, barber shops and beauty salons, vehicle inspection stations will be closed, hunting and fishing will be banned, and churches will be closed.
It also introduces a travel ban from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for everyone except those who continue to work or need medical attention.
Petsas pointed out that all this is necessary to normalize the epidemiological situation in the country and gradually return to normal life.
The children are expected to return to school starting January 11.
According to a government spokesman, the situation with the coronavirus in Greece is better than in many European countries, but the number of cases remains high.
We will recall, earlier, that the Greek government banned traditional Christmas carols during the Christmas season due to the coronavirus.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, mass vaccination of the population against the coronavirus in this country may begin in February. The vaccination program is expected to be completed by the summer.
