Leading specialist in infectious diseases of the Ministry of Health Olga Golubovskaya disagreed with the position of the World Health Organization (WHO), which expressed concern about Ukraine assignments on experimental drugs against COVID-19.
Letter from the WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans kluge the doctor commented on a Facebook page on December 24. The expert began her publication with the phrase: “I have no words.”
“We are also very concerned that Kluge does not give our patients the opportunity to receive life-saving therapy“, – emphasized Golubovskaya.
She wrote that the WHO probably complained about “medical activists from among the so-called statesmen who have ruined the system to standardize medical care.
However, according to Golubovskaya, the World Health Organization “forgot” to report that Ukrainian doctors cannot prescribe drugs against COVID-19 that are not included in the protocol.
They also “forgot” (or rather, they did not know) that the whole world prescribes different methods of treatment that do not have clear evidence for reasons understandable to all sane people, and this treatment is called “experimental” or “compassionate” and its objective is to give the patient the possibility of survival, ”emphasized the infectious disease specialist.
She remembered that doctors, in turn, were concerned about the WHO protocols, which at the beginning of the pandemic prohibited the administration of hormones. This would increase mortality. “if it weren’t for our selfless doctors“.
The infectious disease specialist noted that doctors treated the infected “in such a way that they could survive, and not adhering to erroneous recommendations, which were later corrected.”
Golubovskaya summed up that masks and pulse oximeters alone will not be able to save people, and if they are not treated, then “there will not be enough oxygen.”
Ukraine, as the doctor explained, uses modern methods of treatment, therapy regimens that have proven themselves.
“Therefore, probably, our mortality rate is not the same as in some civilized countries,” said the doctor.
We will recall, WHO said they are concerned about the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to allocate UAH 125 million for tocilizumab and immunoglobulin, experimental drugs for COVID-19. The organization advised that money be spent on oxygen, masks and pulse oximeters, suitable equipment for intensive care units.
