Infectionist Olga Golubovskaya said that a unique doctor who saves people with the help of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was going to leave Ukraine due to a salary of 8 thousand UAH.
She announced this during a broadcast on the Kyiv Live television channel. The doctor described the departure of personnel as the main problem of the Ukrainian health sector. (to see the video, scroll to the end of the story).
“Much remains, that’s not the right word. Today I literally spoke with a man. He is such a high-level biologist, constantly involved in the rescue of patients with the help of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.” says: we saved a woman, recently we talked about it. This is the first case of an adult in Ukraine who was saved in this way. He says: “We went to her for a month, and by taxi, of course. She received UAH 8,000 on her card,” he clarified.
After that, the doctor announced that he would leave Ukraine.
“The person can read and write, without him it will be impossible to do this procedure. Well, this is in general … Doctors’ salaries are less than unemployment benefits,” Golubovskaya said.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL announced that Alexander Artemov, head of the infectious intensive care unit of the fifth Kiev hospital, died of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at the age of 62.
According to Golubovskaya, he was in intensive care for almost two months. According to her, Artyomov was an excellent doctor, manager and a wonderful person.
