Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many Ukrainians are concerned about the issue of visa-free travel with the European Union.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Kuleba, decided to reassure citizens and spoke about what awaits our citizens after the opening of the borders. In an interview with the Left Bank, he said that systemic problems should not arise with a visa-free regime.
However, according to Kuleba, it is possible that, due to the pandemic, it will be necessary to discuss with the European Union the rules and possibilities to restrict movement within the Schengen area. If a new outbreak of infection occurs, the edges should be closed again. So the Schengen during the pandemic “will go from being an absolute principle to a familiar one.”
Despite these points, Kuleba assured Ukrainians that the visa-free system will remain the same as before. Therefore, tourists will not be limited on the move.
As Vgorode previously wrote, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba previously said that international flights could not be restored even in the summer and that Ukrainians could only go abroad in the fall.
According to him, flights depend, first of all, on the situation in other countries. Several European countries are already considering ways to solve this problem.
