Germany plans to hold talks with the US on sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

This was reported on the website of the German Bundestag. Negotiations will take place after the United States Senate confirms all competent individuals for the positions and officially begins work.

The German authorities reject the US sanctions on the pipeline and see them as interference with European sovereignty. However, Germany did not rule out a situation in which the US government could impose restrictions on the German fund to support the pipeline.

Earlier, representatives of the US State Department said that their country is not negotiating with Germany on the possibility of completing the construction of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. In addition, the administration of President Joe Biden promises to do everything possible to prevent its completion.

It is noted that representatives of the Biden administration during a diplomatic conversation expressed their concern about the construction of an oil pipeline on German territory. The State Department stressed that it can take a long time to determine who is subject to sanctions. However, the White House plans to use all available tools against the construction of Nord Stream 2.
