The Russian Foreign Ministry introduced new personal sanctions against Germany
Russia has expanded personal sanctions against RFA officials. The new suspects on the arrest list were the heads of the German security and intelligence structures, which are part of the German Defense Ministry system.
Russia has expanded the list of sanctions against Germany to include senior officials from the security and intelligence agencies that are part of the German Defense Ministry. This was announced on Tuesday, December 29, by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the official Berlin for a long time “unrolled the story about the Russian trail” in the hack of the Bundestag’s computer networks in 2015, as a result of which the EU imposed sanctions on two Russian citizens and one organization on October 22, 2020.
The sanctions against the siloviki were Moscow’s response to these sanctions.
Recall that the European Union on October 22 imposed sanctions on two Russians and 85 from the Main Center of Special Services of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia for a cyberattack on the Bundestag in 2015.
The investigation believes that Russian military intelligence is behind the attack by hackers. At the same time, on May 5, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Federal Republic of Germany announced the international wanted list of Russian Dmitry Badin, accusing him of being involved in a cyberattack on the Bundestag network.
The Russian side has repeatedly denied suspicions of involvement in hacker attacks. None of the law enforcement agencies of the Federal Federal Republic have provided evidence to support the media version of cybercriminals’ ties to Moscow.
